This is one of the Birds Are My People series, Inspired by my time as the artist in residence at the AudubonCenter for Birds of Prey (CBOP) in Maitland, FL. I draw the birds there every week. The Center gave me x-rays of birds from the Center clinic. CBOP is a triage Center that evaluates and treats injured or abandoned birds in Central Florida. I so appreciate the time and patience of CBOP staff to review and explain the x-rays for me.
The x-ray here is of a eastern screech owl printed on fabric. The light colored thread used here in the leaves and bird body glows in the dark and under black light.
