Night Garden

2019, 54”L x 55”W, hand-dyed cotton fabric, machine-quilted, hand-embellished.

This is the companion to “Day Garden.” I always loved how my mother’s garden took on a different look and meaning at night. Night blooming cerius , jasmine and moon flowers seemed to take over at night, and all plants looked different under a night sky.

I have grown to love beading. Small seed beads and pearls add interest and sparkle to quilts. I hand sew all the beads in my work - no glue! Beading makes me slow down and focus on the work in hand.
